Head of Development/Chief Development Officer, O-Pitblast S.A.

Location: Hybrid between Porto Portugal and Finland (Helsinki – Tampere area)

O-Pitblast is a technology company specializing in digitalized drill and blast solutions, with a focus on mining, tunneling, and quarrying applications. We leverage cutting-edge technology to enhance efficiency and safety in these demanding environments.

We are seeking a Head of Development to lead our dedicated team of over 10 developers. This challenging and rewarding role offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic software company at the forefront of technological innovation.

Key Responsabilities:

• Lead a team of >10 developers, ensuring effective collaboration, project execution, and team growth.
• Building and strengthening the development team to meet better way industry needs
• Oversee the entire software and hardware development lifecycle, from conception to deployment.
• Ensure that all projects are aligned and supporting company strategies and future growth visions
• Participate company strategy work and updates within product development area
• Implement and maintain software delivery processes, including agile methodologies, continuous integration (CI), and continuous delivery (CD).
• Ensure robust testing practices are integrated into the development process for high-quality software delivery.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and learning within the development team.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align the application development with business goals and user requirements.
• Manage DevOps practices, ensuring seamless integration and deployment processes.
• Monitor and manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in leading software development teams, with a proven track record in delivering high-quality software products in cross-cultural teams.
• Experience in the development of surveying and/or electronic measurement devices is beneficial.
• Expertise in software development methodologies and practices, such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban.
• Experience in 3D simulation and modeling, photogrammetry are beneficial skills.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and DevOps practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically about technology and its business implications.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Fluent English is mandatory for the success, either Finnish or Portuguese language can be seen advantage
